During the Almedalen Week 2015, the Swedish Government decided to establish a new council for sustainable development: the Scientific Council for Sustainable Development. The council will consist of 12 top researchers, who will begin their work in the autumn 2015. Thomas Sterner is one of the new members.
The council will strengthen the collaboration between academia and the Government in their joint efforts towards sustainable development. The council will also function as an advisory council for the Government with a special focus on sustainable development; to work towards a transformation to a green economy, environment and climate.
