Inspiring talks by Terese Thoni (CEC, LU), Åsa Kasimir (Earth Sciences, GU) and Paul Miller (INES, LU) set the scene for eye-opening and fun discussions in an intense afternoon workshop led by Deniz Koca (CEC, LU), triggering reflections on links, conflict and synergy between research questions central to MERGE and BECC.
On the second day, a much appreciated presentation by Sustainability advisor Bodil Elmqvist gave a glimpse of what it can be like to work with land use and climate adaptation in a role outside the university. A major take-home from the meeting was to embrace and accept the challenge to both acknowledge and tackle complex research questions in a creative way.
