Fantastic Fossil Free Futures

future
Seminar
What will everyday life in a fossil free society be like? Let´s find out together!

By the year 2050 the world must have reached net zero Co2 emissions in order to reach the climate goal of 1,5 degrees global warming. Today 80% of all energy generation consists of fossil fuels (coal oil and gas). What will the fossil free society of 2050 look like, in Sweden and in the rest of the world?

- How do we live?
- Where do we live?
- What do we eat?
- What do we work with and how do we travel to work?

Four very knowledgeable people will give short presentations on their view of the fossil free future:

Christer Ljungberg, CEO, Trivector

Kimberly Nicholas, Senior Lecturer, Director of Studies PhD school, LUCSUS, Lund University

Helena Tillborg, Head of Unit Business Development, Kraftringen

Olof Kolte, Designer, Senior lecturer, Industrial Design, Lund University

The participants will work together with the experts to further develop visions and discuss what actions are needed. Each group will summarise their discussions in a picture.

The visions and ideas will be collected and inform the development of a ”Travel guide to the fossil free society” that is being developed within the projects REINVENT and Climaginaries.

The event is organised by Climate-KIC@LU and aims to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation and innovation within the climate field.

The seminar is part of the upcoming Future Week, arranged by Lund University 14-20 October 2019. More about the week here.

Pre-registration is required for this event. Registration is now closed.
