Apply for workshops

BECC welcomes workshop initiatives within its area of interest. They can serve a number of purposes, for example to update a scientific area and to interact with stakeholders.

What is a BECC workshop?

Workshops serve many purposes, for example

  • to update or summarize a scientific area of particular interest to BECC,
  • to interact with stakeholders,
  • to initiate research applications, or
  • to initiate research collaborations, including collaborations with stakeholders.

A BECC workshop must be open to all PIs, researchers and friends of BECC. Invitations to societal actors are encouraged. The workshop can be organized as part of a planned knowledge synthesis or to support the work of an AG.

Funding

A workshop can be funded by a maximum contribution of 100,000 SEK from BECC. Applications that have a well-defined product are prioritized.

We welcome and encourage applicants to also generate funding from other sources or co-fund with already available resources. In particular, a BECC-application may be used to cover costs if external applications are not successful. When combined with applications for external grants, the application may present alternative budgets contingent on if external grant applications are successful or not.

Application and reporting

Decisions on workshops are taken by the BECC board. Proposals for workshops can be submitted at any time, but please note that the BECC yearly budget restricts the number of workshops that can be granted funding.

Remember to consider gender aspects, interdisciplinary aspects, stakeholder involvement, and the connection between LU and the UGOT.
