LU Land lecture: Functional landscapes for biodiversity conservation - what is it and why do we need to talk about it?
Managing natural resources at the landscape level is increasingly being called for as a crucial piece of the puzzle to counteract the loss of biodiversity in a changing climate. But what is meant by a landscape perspective? What are the ecological processes and theories behind this concept, and how can they best be put into practice?
At this lecture, Ola Olsson, Associate Professor at the Department of Biology at Lund University, will give an overview of what we mean by functional landscapes and how the needs and functions of different species can be utilised in practical conservation work.
