Using biological collections to understand and meet societal challenges
To understand the rate and processes driving biodiversity loss, we depend on biological collections – both in museums and in gardens and parks – to track lineages through time and space.
To track lineages through time and space is central to scientists and stakeholders alike as we attempt to meet BECC-relevant societal challenges of reducing extinctions, understanding climate change effects and sustainably manage nature. In a half-day meeting on this topic, we bring together invited speakers and representation of the Biological Museum in Lund and Lund University Botanical Garden to inspire the BECC community in using our available and valuable collections. The event will be initiated by a walking lunch tour of the Botanical Garden and finished with snacks, drinks and mingling to give us plenty of time to discuss, connect and get inspired.
Sign up in link below by Friday October 6th to ensure lunch and snacks.
