Interacting with society

Stakeholder interaction is an important asset of BECC – for advancing transdisciplinary research, for getting an understanding of the needs of the society, and also for reaching out, making sure that the knowledge built up is utilised outside academia.

BECC research provides a crucial scientific basis for management decisions and societal policies on biodiversity and ecosystem services in a changing climate. We build research capability and capacity in dialogue with disciplinary excellent research departments, ensuring breadth of expertise.

BECC researchers are active in writing synthesis reports, policy briefs and other outreach mechanisms. BECC is also one of the main organisers of Swedish Biodiversity Symposium - an interdisciplinary conference where experts and stakeholders in biodiversity come together to promote positive developments in the field.
