The BECC Board and the BECC and MERGE steering group at the University of Gothenburg (UGOT) have decided to strengthen the interdisciplinary development of BECC research by announcing funding for up to six 2-year post doc positions. This effort aims to specifically favour BECC’s research development within the field of ecosystem-based climate adaptation in response to actual or expected climatic shifts, including consideration of potential co-benefits for biodiversity and ecosystem services, using both social and natural science approaches. In the light of the BECC overarching Grand Challenges the project should emphasise evidence and contributions to climate adaptation measures that benefit the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into policy development, decision-making and praxis, from local to global levels.

Call topic: Climate Adaptation

Deadline: 2022-09-23

Who can apply?
At least two BECC researchers, representing Lund and Gothenburg University, are expected to be the hosts of each post doc.The main applicant must be a BECC PI from LU.

Main applicants who were successful in BECC’s post doc call in 2019 cannot receive funding.

BECC call for proposals for research funding for the years 2022-2023

The deadline for research funding in BECC for the year 2022-2023 has now been exceeded.
Due to an unusually low number of applications the BECC board has decided to re-open the call. The new deadline is 2022-09-23.

We now encourage BECC PIs to use the time until then to discuss and develop research plans along with the call text. If you want to discuss ideas, or need help finding collaborators etc, please do not hesitate to contact the Research Theme leaders for BECC's three Grand Challenges.
